MY PORTRAIT STUDIO

I sometimes call my portrait studio the smallest photo studio in the world. The essence of my work is to focus entirely on the person in front of the camera —without elaborate set designs or distractions. Whether the emphasis is on personality, sensuality, or purely visual aspects, the person always remains at the center.

Collaboration with the model is essential to me. I create space for the model to experiment and express herself freely. With less experienced models or when realizing my own artistic visions, I take on a more guiding role. Often, both approaches merge within a single session.

Why are my subjects often undressed? Nudity is not the goal but often the starting point. The absence of clothing is meant to evoke deeper portraits and emphasize the presence of the person. It allows for a raw, unfiltered connection between subject and viewer. Additionally, the interplay of light and shadow on bare skin adds an extra dimension to the composition, enhancing the visual and emotional depth of the image.

I work with both digital and analog photography. My analog work is primarily in medium format and large format using 4×5 film.

Even more than the final digital image, my true passion lies in fine art prints. A photograph only feels complete to me when I sign a high-quality print and hold it in my hands.

Photography is my passion, not my profession. That’s why I focus solely on personal projects. However, meaningful model applications are always welcome—just keep in mind that I only take photographs that I can publish without restrictions.
